Hydrophobic Y Zeolite — ZC-FAU-H Series
The ZC-FAU-H series is a family of high-silica hydrophobic FAU zeolites (Y framework) engineered for VOC adsorption from humid and wet gas streams. Unlike standard Y zeolites used in FCC and hydrocracking catalysis, ZC-FAU-H zeolites have Si/Al ratios from 40 to 120, rendering the framework strongly hydrophobic and capable of preferentially adsorbing organic molecules even when water vapour is present.
The FAU structure’s 12-membered ring openings (~7.4 A) and internal supercages (~12 A) provide ample access for BTEX and larger VOC molecules — molecules that may be size-excluded from the 10-MR pores of MFI-type adsorbents. This makes ZC-FAU-H complementary to MFI-based VOC adsorbents in layered or blended bed configurations.
