Beta Zeolite for SCR
Beta zeolite is the cost-effective SCR catalyst for stationary NOx abatement — industrial boilers, process heaters, and simple-cycle gas turbines where exhaust temperatures are stable and DPF regeneration does not occur. In its Cu- and Fe-exchanged forms, Beta delivers adequate NOx conversion at lower cost than SSZ-13-based catalysts, making it the value choice for a large share of the stationary SCR market.
When Beta Beats SSZ-13 for SCR

Why Not Use Beta in Mobile SCR?
Beta zeolite is not suitable for mobile SCR. Its large-pore BEA framework lacks the hydrothermal stability to survive diesel particulate filter regeneration temperatures around 800 °C, and its broader pore system does not provide the same Cu ion stabilisation as the CHA cage structure of SSZ-13. For stationary applications without extreme thermal cycling, however, Cu-Beta or Fe-Beta is a cost-effective choice.
